Oh. Chello.

Facts about myself that you probably never knew. Or cared to know. But now, you get to know.

1. I can not sleep without a mouth-gaurd.  This is entirely due to years working in a dental office seeing the effects of grinding on your teeth. So much damage done, so little canines left. My best friends call my mouth-gaurd the "beaver tooth." And yes, it does give me a lisp.

2. I always wake up on a 7…i.e. 6:27 tomorrow morning. Yikes.

3. I delete FB every year for about 6 months.  Then, I get curious what my friends are doing and reactivate it again. Its a vicious cycle. And it is annual, stemming from these reactions I get from the moms back home. "That boy is in a lot of your pictures.  How long have you been dating him? It looks like you have fun together." Stop stalking me soccer moms. (Say that ten times fast.)

4. I break or lose EVERYTHING. Never trust this hoe.
Here is a picture of me breaking a toilet seat.

5. My go to food is always candy. Not chocolate…unlike most girls I don't love chocolate…but somethings fruity and chalk full of sugar. Like Skittles. Or peach rings. Or Frooties. Mhmmm frooties. I will eat candy until I am sick to my stomach…or entirely full. Its a real addiction. I tried to give it up for New Years this year and lasted a grand total of four days. Yeah, my mom is proud of me.

6. I love taking pictures with people of half your faces. For some reason I always think they are the best and cutest, most original type of pictures to take with someone. Especially if that someone is your younger, adorable, little hipster brother Logan.

7. There is a slide show on my computer of all the boys I have kissed and funny facts about each of them. Maybe one day I'll be brave and share it with someone.

8. I still think blogging is weird. But I like it.

Cheers :)

The Beginning

So, I'm sitting there like the freaking idiot I am, drowning in a sea of embarrassment. It was one of those moments you wish had never happened, one of those moments where you question who's 'grand idea' it had been, one of those moments that leaves a permanent scar on your self-confidence.

You KNOW you have had those moments too.

Lesson learned…double and triple check if it is actually your friend Brandon BEFORE you sit on a complete stranger's lap while whispering provocative sayings into his ear.  Orrrr you get to face the extreme awkwardness of explaining to a stranger that you and your friends normally surprise each other with a lap dance and a great one liner when you see them around campus.
And then what happens later that day when you are explaining to your real friends the awkwardness of the entire situation? What do they tell you?
"Oh Hallie, don't sweat it."
….oh. so, don't sweat it? Cool. I mean…I wasnt looking for a trash bag to cover my face anyways. It's not like I was literally sweating from embarassment. And I for sure just laughed instead of cried as I left that innocent boy I had just corrupted.

Well my dear friends. There are some things in life that we do sweat about. Giving a poor, lonesome stranger a lap dance on the third floor of the BYU-Idaho library isn't something that you should sweat about. But I did in that moment. Thats what this blog is about…those everyday, minimal moments that should be so insignificant, but actually matter and have an impact on your life.  It takes a thousand little, seemingly-insignificant moments that compile a lifetime.

I am figuring out that there are a lot of those little moments that impact me. For the better, the worse, the good, bad, and ugly. I have things I need to work on, just like everyone.  Opening myself up is at the top of my list-telling people my unimportant stories, the things that make me tick, the words that make me cry.  I need to be okay telling people the things that sometimes I do sweat about, regardless of how insignificant I might think they are.

Because we have ALL been there…the overthinkers, the under thinkers, the non sensical thinkers. We ALL are trying to get through this life, and sometimes we need the reassuarance that someone else out there thinks the same way we do.

Also, very important. I am in love with Jalen Rose. Watch, appreciate, laugh.
